Like most Boxers, he also enjoys Boxing with his people, jumping up and giving a light two paw pounce. He enjoys carrying toys around wherever he goes, squeaky toys are super fun, but Kong toys are also wonderful. He is a great ball player and may not always bring it back, but his enthusiasm keeps the game going. And it’s been really cool to be able to follow along on the Facebook page and see how some of her brothers and sisters (and all of the other CoH pups!) are doing. All of our adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, up to to date on their shots and micro chipped. Reacquainting ourselves with puppy training after a decade and a half hiatus-and now trying to do so with three kids “helping”-was certainly a challenge. When school starts back up, she will be sad-but she is content to stay home with mom and then jump in the car every day to wait outside the school, greet all the kids, and welcome her boys.

Her favorite thing in the world is to run around with “her” boys, intervening as they play ball or goading them into chasing her.

Today she gets to run free on two acres, where she is constantly exploring-and sometimes digging and hunting. That was it-then and there she became part of our family. But the real test was the next morning, when our three boys (then 7, 10, and 12) were introduced to Ariel. I got to meet her very late at night on July 31. My husband joined Marleen and, after a long wait and drive he brought the puppy home.

Fortunately for our family, a good friend, Marleen, just so happened to be a volunteer for Circle of Hope and she offered to pick Ariel up from transport in Albany (an hour and a half away) so we could meet her. A little nervous about this all, I discussed with Erin how the process works and how we would get to meet Ariel (I was not sure about saying yes to adopt a dog we hadn’t yet met in person). There was just something about her little face, and it was the first time I felt compelled to click the “inquire” button on the site.Ī nearly instantaneous response from and phone call with Erin and we got the ball rolling on our paperwork. And then I came across Ariel on Petfinder. Scouring the local shelters for a while, we couldn’t seem to find a match. If you have room in your heart to give or room in your home to share with a foster, we would love your help.īut last summer we all started discussing how we wanted to bring another dog into our life. Join us in our mission! See our vision of hope and watch the circle grow. Our Vision is to join hands across the country and expand our circle of hope and compassion, educate on responsible pet ownership and extend our hands to those in need regardless of how many legs it walks upon. We strive to educate all we can about the pet overpopulation issues faced in this country, to teach and show the importance of spaying and neutering, as well as routine care and the need of companion animals to be part of their human family. Our mission is to function as a never ending circle of hope, to find the lost, the neglected, the thrown away and unwanted, the injured and sick, to give peace to those who suffer and hope to those who need it most by giving medical attention, love, kindness and a home that will love them a lifetime.
